Wood Quality
We use only solid Northern Red Oak in our pew construction (other wood types available upon customer request), never using particle board, veneer, edge banding, or what other furniture manufacturers may label "all wood." Our wood is carefully scanned for imperfections before the manufacturing process ever begins. This "repair before production" standard further guarantees the finest quality wood for your pews.
Finish
For deep grain definition, we hand rub the stain on every piece of furniture we manufacture - we do not use veneer or spray stains. To give a smooth, clear finish and extra durability, every piece of wood has two coats of sealer, lightly sanded between coats, plus two coats of high, solid, pre-catalyzed lacquer. To ensure extra durability on our colonial pew ends, every piece of MDF has two coats of white primer and three coats of white cab-acrylic lacquer. Unlike painted finishes, this lacquer finish will withstand a great degree of wear and tear.
We raise the bar in church furniture standards with our 35" deluxe high-back pews, 2" taller than our standard pews. These taller pews provide more support for the upper back and shoulders, and are more comfortable during extended seating. This option is available with any pew body type and includes extended-height supports for increased stability.
